Apple Hostels of Philadelphia earns top awards for North America and USA

I'm very pleased to announce that a few days ago, Apple Hostels of Philadelphia earned the awards for "Best Youth Hostel North America" and logically, "Best Youth Hostel United States of America", from Trivago. To be honest, I hadn't heard of Trivago before, but from what I've heard they are wonderful people with a keen eye for quality. They are also "the largest European travel community analyses with guest reviews of approximately 300,000 hotels around the world."

I've been at Apple Hostel Philly last march and I really had a nice staying in the city and the hostel. The social activities are good ideas for tired backpackers and it was nice in that season where I wandered by the States for almost 2 months and it was cold and rainny almost the whole trip.Just need more plug-ins for electronics and better beds. Hi Vanesa,

Thanks for the nice comments. Regarding the beds...ever since we purchased the hostel on the 2nd of June, 2008, we've been making lots of improvements. One of the things we've been doing is replacing the beds and mattresses a few at a time, as needed. So far we've replaced all the beds in the Couples dorm room, and all but two in the Female dorm room (we replaced 2 sets of bunk beds just after you left and have just 2 more to replace soon). Unfortunately, you must have had one of the bad ones we replaced. The Male dorm room still has 4 older beds, which aren't too bad, but they will be replaced in the next couple of weeks.
